Volunteer disability advocates work one-on-one with clients applying for Person with a Disability status through the Ministry of Social Development and Social Innovation. Volunteer advocates may also work with their clients through the appeal process as their skills develop over time. There is an additional screening process for this position and volunteers must participate in a training program provided by TAPS.
*TAPS accepts ongoing applications for the position of Volunteer Disability Advocate. These application are collected though out the year and applicants will be contacted when the next training opportunity is scheduled. Training sessions typically take place 3 time per year. Please note that you will not receive an immediate response to your application.
Volunteer Disability Advocates must have organizational, writing, and analytical thinking skills.
